I am a writer and a teacher of writing. I prefer the essay--personal, opinion, political, or otherwise--though I’ve published more heavily in popular nonfiction: features, reviews, profiles, and local stories. My chapbook “Finite” has won the Red Ochre Lit Chapbook contest and will be published in Spring 2012. It is a collection of 18 personal essays. All proceeds from the book will benefit “Literature for a Cause,” which provides literature for underfunded schools abroad, this year in Southeast Asia.
